I have a NO ZERO grading policy! You don’t have to ask if an assignment is worth a grade, because it is. You will succeed in my class if you do the work! My grading policy is as follows:

What if i am absent?
YOU are responsible for making up your own work.
You must check your class tab on this site & Microsoft Teams to see the assignment was for the day you missed.
If there are any handouts, you will be able to retrieve them from the “While You Were Out” folder on the wall, this website, or Microsoft Teams.

What is the make up work policy?
- Daily Assignments are posted on this Class Website .
- Any handouts you need will be given to you in class, on this website, or on Microsoft Teams.
- It is YOUR responsibility to check Weekly, this website, with me, Microsoft Teams, and turn your work in within a week of your absence
- For example; If Aiden missed school on Tuesday, his make-up work will be due the following Tuesday
- Any work not turned in within the week window will be penalized as late work. Please see me as soon as you can after an absence to avoid grade deductions.
- You may turn the work in physically in class, by email to [email protected], or Microsoft Teams.
What if I turn in late work?
- Late Work receives a 10% penalty per day the assignment is not turned in.
- •Late work is defined as work that is not turned in on the day it is due if you were present at school.
- In order to receive credit for late work, you must complete a Late Work form, fill it out completely, and submit the form attached to your assignment.
1 Day Late: 90% highest possible score
2 Days Late: 80% highest possible score
3 Days Late: 70% highest possible score
4 Days Late: 60% highest possible score

Microsoft Teams: Microsoft Teams is a simple way for you to stay informed and up to date with what is happening in your class. You will submit assignments, get reminders, extra credit, and important information regarding your World History Class. You can access Microsoft Teams from a computer, or you can download the app on your phone.

WHat is a discussion post & how do I respond?
Students will have a discussion topic posted to Microsoft Teams once a week. Students will be expected to respond to the topic. Typed responses will be worth a homework assignment for the week: you must post a response (at least 50 words), and respond to two other people ( at least 25 words) in order to receive full credit.
How should i behave?
Class Rules
- Respect (includes being responsible, equal, silent, punctual, encouraging, cooperative, tolerant, and having mutual respect toward others)
- Attentive Listening (listening and paying attention while the teacher is talking and not talking to others while a lesson is being taught)
- Appreciation / No “Checking”/Bullying (having the right to ask questions and to learn during a lesson with no judgment)
- Participation (working to your fullest potential and seeking help when needed)
- Engagement (no cell phone usage during class. Phones must be turned in at the Electronics Table in the mornings).
- Students will receive a verbal warning.
- Students will receive a one on one conference in the hall.
- Students will receive alternative seating arrangement and complete a reflection sheet.
- Students will be referred to the office.
- For severe disruptions students will be sent to the office immediately.
- When serving a detention, students must wait for the teacher to arrive at the front of the school building. Failure to arrive for detention will result in further consequences.
- Be prepared for class both academically & physically (pen or pencil and paper in hand).
- Begin Bell Work at the 60-second warning bell.
- Do not walk or talk during instruction unless instructed to do so.
- Remain silent and actively listen when others are talking.
- Students may not use the restroom during the first 15 minutes and last 15 minutes of class or when the teacher is explaining concepts to the class.
- Class attendance is mandatory. When absent, it is the student’s responsibility to obtain missed information.
- When the dismissal bell rings, students must remain seated and quiet until the teacher dismisses them.
- Before leaving class, students must clean their work area.
- During fire or other emergency drills, students will follow the teacher’s instructions
